PhD thesis: patient-specific, image-based biomechanical modeling Ranking of osteogenic potential of physical exercises in postmenopausal woman based on their femoral neck strain. What is the effect of certain excercises such as fast walking, running or specific resistance exercises on the bone density in the femoral neck. As a Product Design Engineer, I am responsible for the development and testing of spinal implants including mechanical and functional testing as part of the pre-clinical evaluation for CE and FDA approval.Furthermore, I am responsible for the European 3DMed project working together with several international companies, universities, and hospitals. The goal of the project is to develop and integrate a workflow for 3d printed patient-specific medical devices including dedicated heat and surface treatments as well as the design of patient-specific maxillofacial and spinal implants. Besides 3DMed, I am also involved in several other grant applications such as WBSO, MIT, and Vroege Fase Financiering.
