Elected Chairman of Apache OpenJPA Project. OpenJPA is the top-level Apache open source project for Object Relational Mapping. Principal committer to OpenJPA that delivered the first, fully compliant JEE certified implementation for Java Persistence API (JPA) 2.0 specification. OpenJPA resides at the core of EJB persistence provider for both IBM WebSphere and BEA Weblogic Application Server platform. Major contribution/innovation to this prominent transactional persistent technology: 1. Chief Developer of Criteria Query -- the first compile-time verifiable query in Java language. 2. Primary Developer of MetaModel API -- a complete Type 3 level system for Persistent object. 3. Designer of Transparent Audit facility for OpenJPA that generates audit trail for every transaction with complete transparency to user application.4. Integrating HTTP based REST style API with JSON as interchange format for JPA Application5. Designer of Slice -- the Map-Reduce approach for JPA on horizontally sharded database cluster

Working on Websphere ExtremeScale distributed cache and Apache OpenJPA -- the persistence provider for WebSphere 7.0 Application server.

Leading development for JPA 2.0 as a Open Source advocate for WebSphere platform. Following Agile Project Planning and Management and novel coordination strategy between Open Source and proven IBM practices successfully developed and delivered the first JEE certified JPA 2.0 Feature Pack for WebSphere. Primary designer/developer of many key features including and extending the JPA 2.0 Specification.JPA Expert Committee Member to represent IBM Promoted adoption and smooth transition to state-of-the-art persistence technology for critical transactional systems via conferences (JavaOne), user groups (JUG) and trusted adviser to customers.
