Worked with a team of second-year medical students, and other undergraduates, on an original research project under Dr. John Rose to determine the prevalence of food insecurity and to determine correlations between food insecurity and nutritional tendencies among diverse patient populations served at the UC Davis Student-Run Free Clinics. I approached patients about the project, validated consent, ensured completion of surveys, and managed tracking data. As an RA II, I also gained experience in data entry and assisted the research team with data quality control.

The Lao Zinc study is a community-based, double-blind, randomized control trial in Laos to determine the influence of zinc supplementation on young children to help with growth and development. I am responsible for helping with laboratory and sample processing such as using the ELISA assay to look for specific biomarkers. The objective of the study is to find the optimal method of zinc supplementation for young children to prevent zinc deficiency and treatment for diarrhea.

I have been working at the UC Davis Undergraduate Admissions Office for over a year now. As a public advisor, I primarily work with prospective and admitted UC Davis students along with their parents. I answer any questions relating to our freshman and transfer requirements, provide advice on what UC Davis is looking for in potential students, answer questions about life as a student at UC Davis as well as any questions or concerns students or parents may have about their application. I have worked at both our call center and our front desk.

Imani Clinic provides healthcare and community resources to the Oak Park community of Sacramento. Imani Clinic is open every Saturday where we provide free healthcare services, including Women's Clinic, Pediatrics Clinic, Dermatology Clinic. Our services also include providing nutrition education, legal resources, and we put on Ulezi Health Fair every year for the Oak Park community.

For Spring quarter 2018, I was a Reader for a course including over 400 students called Nutrition 10 at UC Davis. I was responsible for proctoring exams, grading and tallying exams as well as contributing to the social media page for the class.

I learned to work quickly and efficiently while also catering to demanding customers in a warm and welcoming manner. I was in charge of making shoe sales along with maintaining and organizing the front as well as the back of the store. I would often work long hours on my feet while being in charge of a stressful environment.
