I currently work for the substance misuse commissioning team within the Public Health directorate at Essex County Council.I currently manage the contractual compliance of the commissioned substance misuse service providers. This involves meeting with service providers every quarter to ensure they are performing and complying against their contracts in partnership with the Commissioning Manager and other colleagues. I also lead on the procuring and tendering of services for the substance misuse commissioning team, which involves working closely with Essex County Council’s Legal and Financial Services. I manage the contractual negotiations and ensure that any agreed variations are included in the final contract document.Due to my financial background I also lead on the monitoring of the multi-million pound budgets, which the team has allocated and I have done so since November 2006. I have ensured that our service area has never over spent on our allocation, which is mainly due to effective financial projections and prudent financial controls on spending. Another area of my role is the management of risk for the substance misuse commissioning team and I have created and developed Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Outlook risk management tools, which colleagues are able to use. Using these tools I am therefore able to monitor all risks that occur throughout the team and can escalate, where necessary, to Essex County Council’s risk register.I have recently taken on a role working closely with Essex County Council’s Property Services to acquire premises across the County of Essex for our commissioned services to jointly work from. The reason for doing this is to improve the services that the clients’ receive from our commissioned service providers. By service providers being able to offer a fuller range of services from one premises rather than three separate premises.

To provide and maintain accurate financial information reports and forecasts for the Joint Commissioning Manager on inter-agency funding streams and pooled budgets. To liaise with other agency finance officers in relation to DAAT managed and reported funds.To provide and maintain accurate financial reports for the DAAT Strategy Manager on the Criminal Justice Intervention Programme and the DAAT Partnership Grants (Home Office funding).

I am currently the General Secretary at Chelmsford Table Tennis Club ensuring that the Club is managed and administered appropriately. The Club has a number of teams participating in the local Chelmsford league as well as teams participating in National Cadet and National Junior League Competitions. I also Coach at the Club every Friday evening, coaching all ages and at all ability levels. Alongside this I also assist the English Table Tennis Association's Regional Coaching Sessions in the East of England.
