Social entrepreneurship was not on my mind when I graduated from the University of the Philippines's College of Business Administration. As with my business and accounting co-graduates, I immersed myself in the corporate world, quickly climbing the ranks and shouldering greater responsibilities. I found myself as the young head of Global Internal Audit at Schlumberger Oilfield Services, based at its North America headquarters in Houston, Texas. It was then that I made a pivotal decision to prioritize my family and return to Manila. Engaging in volunteer work with Gawad Kalinga sparked a passion within me, leading me to leverage my knowledge and experience in building social enterprises in the Philippines. Today, as an educator and social entrepreneur, I'm dedicated to driving the advancement of sustainable social enterprises in the Philippines. Recognizing these enterprises' profound impact on nation-building, my mission is to build businesses that empower the communities they serve, collaborating closely with clients, partners, and various stakeholders.Proudly embracing my identity as an empowered Filipina, I am committed to living out the purpose that defines my Filipino heritage. A fulfilled wife, mother of two, and grandmother of two. A joyful worker in the Lord’s vineyard.
