Over the course of the week I learnt new concepts which were explored in more detail through a set of tasks which asked me how to consider how to add certain features, or change the layouts and style of my application. In the third week, I was introduced to databases and SQL and covered the basics of creating tables and relationships between them, how to query data, and how to use a database client to connect my database to my own application.In the final week, I had a week to develop and showcase a full-stack webstore application built with Next.js and Supabase, with a short presentation to highlight my experience on the course and demonstrate my final project in front of Sidetrade employees and technical leaders. The webstore itself had a homepage with a header, floating nav bar with dropdown for nav links which are hidden until hovered over, a display of products with images from a database, and a footer with some company info. Navigation to product details page which displays more information about one product, a new releases page which displayed ten of the newest items on sale, a categories page which allowed you the option to filter the products on display by categories and a best sellers page which displays the 10 most sold items, on all of these pages were the ability to navigate back to the products list or any of page on the store, all with a consistent shared layout and styling. I am an accredited MPPI Case Handler in which I investigate customer complaints regarding mortgage payment protection insurance and assess whether the insurance was correctly sold. I work autonomously to maintain and manage my tasks on a daily basis to ensure complaint related tasks are dealt with effectively and within the relevant timescale. This entailed using numerous software to help verify customers identity and locate any mortgages the customer previously had or currently has. This entailed using numerous software to help verify customers identity and locate any mortgages the customer previously had or currently has. In addition to this pro-actively making outbound calls as necessary to obtain extra information from the customer in order to build an accurate case. When necessary, I used software such as excel to calculate any redress the customer was entitled to. Throughout the complaint handling process I accurately capture information and details through the complaint to effectively analyse the case in which I reach a decision regarding the complaint which is then illustrated to the customer through written communication.
