I joined the Merchant Experience team - without having any direct reports - to focus on technology and agile development. We are a technically very strong team owning the fullstack merchant experience. Currently we are running a dozen different services - some of them public facing - that fuel the Merchant Center and our Merchant Mobile Apps globally.The core technology stack is Java 8, Spring Boot, Maven, Git, PostgreSQL and Ansible. We have a noteworthy strong expertise in rxjava and retrofit.

I took over as Technical Lead our team of up to 6 peers, where we owned the full development stack for our features. We introduced new internal marketing tools like improved newsletter scheduling capabilities including A/B-testing, blacklisting of users, and most importantly the resting program, where we would pause any marketing efforts with users that don't interact with Groupon in any way, and automatically relive them, once they do.The project was consolidated and i transitioned it off to a different team, to take on new challenges.

Transferred as Software Engineer to Groupon GmbH, where i worked on the internal CRM tool, that handled mainly all newsletter campaigns as well as transactional emails for Groupon international. Additionally I have built an automated customer lifecycle chain system, push and sms marketing systems to interact with our customers.

Started as a Junior Software Developer at Rocket Internet straight from University. I was part of the heterogeneous backend team, where we were responsible for various applications that fueled the Citydeals platform running for 20+ countries, that got acquired by Groupon Inc..My main focus at that time was the development of the international mobile API from scratch as well as the interface for our affiliates. A major objective here was to replace hyperjaxb with a properly tiered approach, that prevented our DAOs to be directly exposed.The core technologies were Java 6, Spring 2.5, Maven, SVN and PostgreSQL.Shortly after my probation period ended I transferred to Groupon GmbH.
