The Consultative Expert Group addresses the use of new business models, technologies and data sources in insurance from the perspective of fairness and taking into account ethical considerations. It also acts as a sounding board for EIOPA in other related policy initiatives in the area of InsurTech.

Piotr Czublun, attorney at law and a managing partner in the Czublun Trębicki Law Office has been appointed for a member of the Expert Group of on a European Insurance Contract Law. The European Commission set up an Expert Group to carry out the analysis of obstacles impeding the cross-border trade of insurance products, resulting from differences in insurance legislature of particular EU member states.The Group consists of representatives of insurance companies, individual and business clients, academic circles as well as jurisprudence and will determine whether the differences in particular legal regulations are interfering with the distribution of insurance products and the usage of these products by European consumers and entrepreneurs. The Group will also determine which areas of insurance market are particularly influenced by the difficulties.The Group will proceed in regular meetings, taking place in Brussels, within the period of April till December 2013. At the end of the year the Group is expected to prepare a report, which will be the basis of European Commission’s decision of undertaking the possible further analysis.
