As a Junior Designer I play a vital role in the companies design team. As it is a small company I work for I collaborate closely alongside the Directors, Merchandisers and Buying teams on a daily basis. I am responsible for following new design briefs, clothing and branding, to create new ranges for a variety of the companies different brands. As well as designing, I produce highly detailed CADs and specification sheets to aid my ideas. One of my main duties is to oversee the sampling period where I have developed successful professional relationships with all of our manufacturers to communicate design and production information and I share the responsibility, with the Designer, to maintain a log of each style, which is to be produced in each season. Due to the fast paced nature of the company I am able to handle multiple projects and meet extremely tight deadlines. To maintain the organisation of the sampling periods I closely follow the critical paths on a daily basis. My skills in garment construction allow me to understand materials needed for products and the technical aspects of the development of clothing.
