I joined Ellacotts Agricultural and Property team in December 2017. Prior to this I worked for a firm of Chartered Accountants in the South West, where I undertook my ICAEW qualification as a member of the farming team. Previously I obtained a BSc (Hons) degree in Agriculture (Livestock) at the Royal Agricultural University, Cirencester.I qualified as a Chartered Accountant in November 2017 and moved to Ellacotts where I was promoted to Assistant Manager and subsequently to the role of Manager. I now look after a range of Agricultural and Property clients from smaller sole traders up large farming estates trading as Limited Companies. As well as dealing with routine accountancy and taxation matters on behalf of clients, I also enjoy advising clients on the future of their rural businesses.My Agricultural background allows me to work closely with my clients giving constructive advise on business matters and taxation.

I qualified as a Chartered Accountant working within the Farming Department of the Taunton office. I complete accounts, tax returns, VAT and forecasting for sole trade, partnerships and company farming clients. I also have an active role in Xero, setting up and assisting the farming businesses.

I was lucky enough to have been chosen as one of 200 members of "BBC Generation 2015", a group of national young voters appearing on the BBC prior to the general election. I appeared on both the radio, local and national news in group discussions of various political policies including inheritance tax, youth engagement, education, NHS and immigration. Ahead of the June 2017 general election I appeared on a live BBC production streamed on social media in which I discussed the housing polices proposed by each party.

Cirencester, Gloucestershire

At the Royal Agricultural University I was a Student Ambassador and attended careers fairs to promote the University. I also worked for the ‘Outreach’ Department, visiting schools to inform pupils about future University and Higher Education options. I often worked at Open Days and Experience Days, giving prospective students and parents an insight into life at Cirencester.

Chagford, Devon

I spent six weeks of my course placement working at Frenchbeer Farm, Chagford, on Dartmoor, carrying out a wide range of farm duties including raising 2,000 turkeys. I have also taken an interest in the farm accounts. After finishing my placement I was invited back to the farm in December to spend a day helping prepare the turkey's for sale.

When at home I work on a casual basis for Chanterelle Catering Company, Worcester. This includes laying and clearing tables, serving plated or buffet meals, making canapés and serving drinks.

Penrith, Cumbria

I spent three months of my course placement working on the Lowther Estate, Penrith, Cumbria where I was part of a team lambing 5,000 ewes in the sheds. I also worked with the shepherds carrying out a range of other duties on the Estate.

I have worked at Gwillam’s Farm Shop in Worcester in Summer, Christmas and Easter holidays, operating the tills, stacking shelves and assisting customers.
