A fun year working with Sarah Parish, James Murray and their excellent team raising funds for advancing paediatric emergency medicine in the South of England. The charity's latest challenge, the ‘iMRI Suite Appeal’, is to fund a revolutionary intra-operative MRI (iMRI) Suite at Southampton Children’s Hospital. With the covid crisis bring normal life to a grinding halt this was an impossibly challenging time to join a charity when fundraising income plummeted with all face to face contacts cancelled. However, we made the best we could of the year. We held an online Christmas party, ran a successful Big Give Christmas Challenge campaign and did the groundwork to launch #HaresofHampshire, a Wild In Art sculpture trail coming to Winchester in summer 2022.

Researched and produced a comprehensive A to Z of fundraising ideas for schools which PTAs could use as a means of funding the purchase of KitCamp and all those many other things school budgets are increasingly stretched to provide, from computer upgrades, to sports equipment and extracurricular experiences to enhance children's education.

Responsible for developing marketing and communications for six new holiday cottages in the South Downs National Park opened in May 2014. Winners of Beautiful South Awards 2015, SILVER - 'Self-catering Provider of the Year' and GOLD - 'Access for All Tourism'; 2016 GOLD - 'Self-Catering Holiday Provider of the Year', GOLD - 'Access and Inclusivity' and BRONZE - 'Customer Service Superstar'. 2017 awarded Highly Commended by The Countryside Alliance in the #RuralOscars for Tourism Enterprise in the South East of England.Responsible for developing the 'dog friendly' offering which subsequently won the cottages both regional and national awards. Established relationship with a new regional charity (https://www.breastcancerhaven.org.uk/wessex) and strong ties with Hampshire Fare (https://www.hampshirefare.co.uk/about-us/what-is-hampshire-fare) which provided opportunities to host events at the cottages both for members and a pop up restaurant as part of the 2016 Food Festival. Hosted open mornings for National Access Day in 2016 and 2017 which was attended by the Mayor of Winchester, George Hollingbery MP and Srin Madipalli founder of Accommable.

Working with Steven McNab, on transactional projects as well as the development of 'Leapfrog' a charity to facilitate the development of community environmental projects. Steven is currently chairman of Pure Leapfrog (the leading provider of social investment and professional support to community energy projects, mostly in the UK), as well as being head of Environmental Law and Climate Change at Simmons & Simmons.

Joined the Environmental Law team as a newly qualified solicitor working on transactional work as well as advising on a number of climate change related initiatives, including participating with the Carbon Capture and Storage Association in the development of a regulatory framework for carbon capture and storage activities. She published a paper on energy efficiency in the chapter "Investment in low-carbon technologies, the legal issues" published by London Accord (http://www.london-accord.co.uk) in November 2007.Whilst working at Herbert Smith, Pippa set up a company sailing club, organised a departmental ski trip and set up the company's cycle to work initiative. She also cycled down the Rift Valley in Kenya 2006 to raise funds for the Kariandusi School Trust (http://www.kariandusi.co.uk/index.html) and raised funds for Hope & Homes for Children (http://www.hopeandhomes.org) by competing in the 2007 Fastnet offshore race where she met her husband!

Whilst completing her training contract rotating around seats in Structured Finance, Construction, Project Finance, Property Litigation and Environment Pippa and a colleague Joanna Norland coordinated the company's community relations initiative 'Artbeat'. Working with professional artists who were sponsored to develop and lead workshops in schools in Tower Hamlets, and the students were invited to the Canary Wharf offices to see their artwork installed for a year before being returned to the schools. Responsible for managing relationship with one of the schools and producing all the marketing activities associated with this project. Outside work Pippa ran the communications for the Stock Exchange Dramatic and Operatic Society, was an advisor to the National Theatre on encouraging younger people to become members and raised over £4000 for Cancer Research UK to Dog Sledding over 250km in the Arctic in February 2005 by catering dinner parties.
