The South Australian Student Environment Network supports environment collectives on campuses in South Australia, primarily through providing networking and development opportunities to members.In addition to taking an active role in the organisation of events run by the network, roles of the Finance Officer include:- Bookkeeping- Conducting transactions and reimbursement- Managing the group's ABN

The Environment Collective of Students runs campaigns and events to engage students in environmental issues, while working with the university to provide student input into its environmental policy.As co-convener, my role includes:- coordination of volunteers- management of group dynamics- scheduling, planning and facilitation of meetings- liaison with the university's environment officer- management of finances- liaison with the Adelaide University Clubs Association- communication with members- promotion of events- management of the group’s social media

As an Undergraduate Asset Engineer, I was exposed to many facets of the operation of the gas-fired, steam turbine power plant. This included spending time with the Asset Management, Mechanical Maintenance, Operations, Chemical and Performance and Condition Monitoring teams.Key tasks undertaken included:- Conducting stakeholder consultation for and drafting Change Management and Variation Management plans for implementation across AGL- Collating plant data for a remnant life study, requiring thorough plant knowledge- Assisting with condition and performance monitoring investigations (vibration modal analysis and thermography, water, oil and hydrogen composition analysis)- Assisting with mechanical maintenance procedures

As an Undergraduate Lines Engineer, I worked on the structural performance of high-voltage power transmission lines.Key tasks undertaken included:- Applying the relevant standards to integrate a proposed underground power line with existing infrastructure, including recommending minor route changes.- Collating a schedule of environmental factors, supporting structures, access routes, and components required for a proposed overhead power line.- Assessing existing structures to assess the possibility of upgrading them to accommodate future load requirements.

Highlights included:- Presenting at the Australian Association of Environmental Educators National Conference in Bunbury, 2006- Developing and running ‘Fresh Forums for Youth,’ 2008‐2009- Facilitating consultation events for South Australia’s Greenhouse Strategy, 2006
