My background was in professional youth and community work spread over 16 years, during which time I helped Develop OSBD media charity that focuses on developing emerging film talent.www.Osbd.org Leaving full time youth work i've spent the last 25 years making films from education to documentary and feature film. My passion is to discover and tell great stories to the right audiences in the right way to hopefully achieve the best impact.My first feature film "The Insatiable Moon" after a successful run in NZ and UK cinemas and 4* in Empire magazine won best foreign film at Moondance festival USA and best Actor and best supporting Actor at the NZ film awards. "Last Shop Standing" made in 2012 is a 50 minute documentary film i directed about the rise fall and rebirth of the UK indie record shop featuring Paul Weller /Johnny Marr / Billy Bragg : 5 stars and " brilliant" Q magazineIt toured UK cinemas and was regularly broadcast on Sky Arts for several years.Over the past several years i have gone onto make another 7 feature length documentaries.I also helped establish a new MA in film marketing and distribution at Birmingham City University which launched Sept 2013 . I worked on it part time up until 2022 as a VL connecting students to the film industry.I am passionate about helping emerging talent, about truly independent and entrepreneurial filmmaking with sustainability both for the filmmakers and the planet.
