I'm proud, and humbled, to join the Presidential Innovation Fellowship. This highly competitive 1-year program pairs talented, diverse technologists and innovators with top civil-servants and change-makers working at the highest levels of the federal government to tackle some of our nation’s biggest challenges.• Center of Excellence (CoE) for Robotic Process Automation. I helped craft the position description for the lead and helped select candidates. I acted as a subject matter expert during engagement with agencies to define the scope and nature of the effort.• AI/ML Taskforce Lead at USAGM. Working with both the White House and the USAGM leadership, I helped the agency respond to the Presidents Executive Order on Artificial Intelligence by creating a strategy and road map as well as seeking funding from Congress.• Advanced Data Analytics. Created an agency strategy around high level analytics and management of data assets. And then led the execution by developing an ETL operation and an API to share the data across government, using Azure and a microservice based architecture. Built an analytics dashboard around that data. Rolled out NLP to analyze what topics our audience engages with, to provide actionable insights to our journalists (what to talk about, and when/where to post).Azure, Mongo, Postgres, Redis, Node.js, Python, NLP• Technical Policy. Engaged with the White House (OSTP, OAI) to assist with various policy initiatives around Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning.

Remedy Health Media is a health information and technology company that provides clinical resources to millions of patients and caregivers. Reporting directly to the CEO, I was tasked with centralizing and rebuilding the engineering department from the ground up. This process involved strategic planning, establishment of cross- and inter- department processes, and establishment of best practice processes including Agile.My efforts increased productivity from one release per month to multiple releases per day. I reduced operational costs and increased code quality through automation and improved test coverage. I developed and established Product Management, Technical Support, Quality Assurance, UI/UX and Software Development teams, leading to reduced costs, faster product development, higher code quality and improved product reliability. I also dramatically reduced the staff turn-over rate with efforts to improve work-life balance and work culture. A highlight was rebuilding the entire tech-stack, moving from 15 separate systems (from Ruby to PHP) to a single tech stack (Node.js), rolling out piecemeal without any downtime on high traffic websites.

As the VP of technology, my role has been to guide the development process and support our core products including the build out of our high-performance and scalable server infrastructure. As a member of the executive team, my role is to help guide the strategic vision of the company and play a part in working with our investors to ensure we have the funding in place to realize that vision.
