Understanding how people are affected by technology and how it can be used to improve their lives should be the goal of every technologist.For nearly 30 years, across multiple technology sectors, I’ve learnt to identify opportunities for technology enhancement and how to explain this to a non-technical audience.I’ve set up and run pre-sales and development teams, improved organisational operations, guided and supported clients and internal multi-disciplinary teams in embracing, deploying and using technology; from the mundane to the cutting edge.It’s about matching the right technology for the task and arguably, more importantly, the right technology for the people.As we spear into a new age, a fourth industrial revolution, a time of incredible technical advances and possibilities our parents simply couldn’t have anticipated, providing insight and support for the deployment of technology and how it can affect our lives, for good and bad, is more critical than ever.
