After the frenzied pace of growing a startup coincided with a global pandemic, when it became time for me to seek new opportunities, I chose to get a bit of rest in. I do software, writing, & consulting and I have some goals regarding how I do them.This is my guide.----------------------------------------------------------------• Worry less about the "Supposed-to-do's" - I mean I'm a pirate. Do what works instead.• Be open and honest about business matters - Being open during pricing negotiations is hard and it feels weird, but it works out better for both parties.• Get it working first, then worry about perfect - A thing you can use brings infinitely more benefit, than a better thing not yet finished.• How and why is non-trivial - Solving the wrong problems does not help your business.

I started off performing traditional business analysis tasks, but quickly transitioned into designing/programming internal business tools along with Salesforce administration and development. Many of my tasks met the following pattern: no one else knows how to do this, lets give it to Matt, he’ll learn it and get us a minimum viable product. I have done everything from the analysis of possible Expense Automation solutions, to the design and development of a drag-and-drop scheduling tool (front, backend, and database). Most recently I have been working in our main product offering building a micro service in Java (through a smattering of struts and spring), and building a Salesforce application for the AppExchange.

Worked with a team of three others converting the existing site into a web development framework, redesigning the user experience and adding several new functionalities.
