Fernando gets motivated from the sheer pleasure of building, whether it's a software, an architecture, a project, a full program, services, organizations or their cultures.During the Internet boom, he worked as a software developer, architect and consultant, attended a course in computer sciences in one of the best universities in Portugal and got involved with the university’s student union where he became vice-president.He graduated while working in a small telecom company (Comnexo / Oni) in Lisbon. There he automated the full stack of services, grew from system administrator to technical team manager and was awarded the company’s “Exceptional Technical Performance” prize.In 2004 he was invited to the largest telecom in Portugal. There he played a decisive part in designing, implementing, launching and developing the company’s cloud services portfolio.His attitude and performance led to a fast career progression and a new award as one of the company’s talents for 2013.The extensive experience, knowledge and pragmatism contribute to the excellence in results while his talent to create and shape organizational structures allows him to bring out the best of the group, even in extremely difficult moments.When managing allows some spare time, he enjoys technical challenges, exploring the potential of big data (with ElasticSearch, Logstash, Kibana, Ruby, Python, Perl, etc.) and finding out of the box solutions for traditional problems.
