Working as Scientist-D at ICFRE-Himalayan Forest Research Institute, Shimla, Himachal Pradesh. My area of specialization is Forest Seed and Nursery Technology. I have 28 years of research experience in Forest Seed, Nursery Technology and Floristic Studies of the North-Western Himalayas and Trans Himalayan Cold deserts of India. I have published 108 research papers/articles/Abstracts/Booklets/ Pamphlets in various National and International journals and in Conferences/Workshops/Symposia. I have successfully developed technology for breaking seed dormancy of Juniperus polycarpos (Himalayan Pencil Cedar) and Fraxinus xanthoxyloides (Afghan Ash)-two important forestry species of North-Western Himalaya. Besides this, I have also standardized the Nursery and Plantation technique of Juniperus polycarpos. I have been awarded college Color for being an elected member i.e., Vice President of Students Central Association, Govt. Degree College, Solan, Himachal Pradesh for the session 1990-91 and the prestigious “Brandis Prize” for the year 2004 for outstanding research in Silviculture by Indian Forester-a prestigious research Journal of Forest Research Institute, Dehradun. I have been also awarded a second Prize for the best research paper “Technology for Mass Production of Himalayan Pencil Cedar (Juniperus polycarpos C. Koch)” during the National Conference “Forestry in India: Current Challenges and Future Prospects” held at HFRI, Shimla from 15th -18th November, 2016. I have also received an appreciation letter from the Director of State Forest Research Institute, Jammu & Kashmir for the outstanding research done on “Abies spectabilis (D. Don.) Spach- A High-Level Conifer of the Temperate Himalayan Region. Besides this, I have also received three appreciation letters from the Director General of ICFRE Dehradun for the outstanding contribution made in the publication of User Manuals on “Forest Seed Management”, “Modern Nursery Techniques” and "FAQs on Agroforestry" published by ICFRE Dehradun.
