DLAT (now RISE) was a multi academy trust (MAT) overseeing 15 primary schools. Challenges included managing a very tight budget. Conducted a full strategic and financial analysis of a small company which had run into difficulty. The review included interviews with the owners and all employees, as well as an analysis of competitive dynamics and product positioning in key markets. Built detailed financial projections showing five year forecasts of Income Statement, Balance Sheet and Cash Flow. The final output was a 65-page report with recommendations including: products to be discontinued; products to be repositioned at the premium end of the market; markets to be addressed; management changes; R&D/capex to be cut until justified by cash flow; etc.The company followed the recommendations and saw revenues rise by 60% in the next three years.
