• Designed, implemented and tested new vendor-specific IPMI commands to control chassis health LEDs, power and temperature sensors in the iDRAC BMC on the SC7000 storage controller.• Winner of Dell Silver Award for timely debug of Intel Fortville DUP firmware update package.• Designed, implemented and tested FreeBSD device driver to create a virtual network device using a Non-Transparent Bridge (NTB) between two canisters in the same enclosure.• Ported i386 NetBSD EqualLogic kernel to Intel CRB for performance comparison to MIPS platforms.• Contributed various bugfixes to EqualLogic storage kernel for PS-series storage controllers.

• Debugged prototype EFI boot driver for Fibre Channel over Ethernet (FCoE) Converged Network Adapter (CNA). Implemented several new EFI driver features as specified by OEM.• Implemented N_Port ID Virtualization (NPIV) in EFI boot driver for Fibre Channel HBA. Modified EFI driver to respond to Command Line Protocol (CLP) requests and store N_Port IDs in NVRAM for OS driver.

Modified USB device drivers to perform 64-bit direct DMA or 32-bit buffered DMA. Enabled Itanium systems to boot over the LAN using NISCS or LAD/LAST protocol and eliminated the porting of obsolete Alpha boot drivers. Enabled future systems with 10 Gig network adapters to boot from the network without the requirement for new Ethernet boot driver.• Designed and implemented new bootstrap method to load files from a dynamic memory disk populated by using UEFI firmware disk storage drivers. Eliminated duplicate effort to incorporate complex stack of USB boot drivers into the operating system.• Designed and coded a device driver in C for the USB 2.0 Enhanced Host Controller Interface (EHCI) using Linux sources code. Completed project on-time with high quality code. Reduced OS installation from USB DVD by 40%, saving approximately 30 minutes from the process.• Directed as Project Leader the implementation of OS support on Superdome system. Implemented device driver for Hitachi H8 controller for thermal management of the system. Assisted in porting of application by Computer Science Corporation to the platform. Demonstrated the prototype system at trade shows. The system was released as the AlphaBook I. The same code was also used to support the DEC Multia system with the Alpha processor.• Directed as project leader the design, implementation and testing of operating system support for the AlphaServer 2100. • Designed major portions of the Alpha bootstrap process, including the NCR 53C710 SCSI bootstrap device driver, and the primitive file system for the first generation Alpha system. Participated in the design of the Alpha system firmware. Project shipped on schedule as the DEC 4000 AXP server system.• Implemented error handing code for the VAX 6000 series system. Implemented bootstrap and I/O configuration code. Provided field test and problem tracking support. Promoted to role as Project Leader for VAX 6000 Model 500.• Tested upgraded CPU modules and new memory controllers for the VAX 8250/8350 system.
