I believe in an economy based on products, processes, and services with high technological and scientific intensity, and I know that this is only possible by helping companies to leverage their R&D activities through financing mechanisms.I hold a PhD in Chemistry from the University of Lisbon and have training in Innovation Management. My career in the industry began in laboratory and team management at the former SAPEC Agro. I quickly moved into the area of management of projects financed by public funds, promoting close relationships with institutions of the national scientific and technological system for the development of innovative projects, to consolidate the organization's internal knowledge and to leverage R&D projects with public funding and tax credits.Currently I hold the position of Innovation Manager at InnovPlantProtect. InnovPlantProtect (InPP) is a collaborative laboratory (CoLab), a public-private non-profit association, created to develop biobased innovative solutions to protect crops from pests and diseases, and provide monitoring and diagnosis services, thus contributing to the sustainability of agricultural systems. Its main focus is Mediterranean crops, specially their protection against emergent pests and diseases associated with climate change, whose harmful effects are already visible in many countries, including Portugal.
