I began my career in computer science in high school with a card punch and shared processing time on Seattle University’s main frame. When the first PCs hit the market in the late 80s I was eager to join this technology push and started working at Bear Computer Systems. There I learned many aspects of a growing business from building, sourcing new components, to managing new store fronts and people. From there opened PAR Computer Systems with a partner delivering networks to small and medium size businesses. This launched a career in distribution sales where I built a portfolio to a million dollars a month in under a year. Longing to get back into the cutting edge of technology I joined Microsoft as a contractor at the end of 1999 and helped launch PKI operations with MS Windows 2000 and the Active Directory. I was instrumental in rolling out smart cards across the globe and was hired full time to sustain PKI operations for MSIT. Building on these experiences I have a track record of increased levels of responsibilities and am currently leading a team of 20 with 9 direct reports covering Identity Services over 700 servers in 50 countries. This includes Active Directory Directory Service (ADDS), Active Directory Federation Services (ADFS), Forefront Identity Manager (FIM), Rights Management Service (RM or RMS) and Public Key Infrastructure (PKI).In 2012 I received a Manager Excellence Award nominated by executive leadership: "Peter does an outstanding job as a manager.
