I assisted the baseball desk with editing every Major League Baseball game story each night. As the reporters at the ballparks would file their stories to the headquarters in New York, we would relay messages about editorial changes needed in the stories before they were put on the wire.Before the games would start each night, the editorial assistants were responsible for compiling and editing game notes from every game on the schedule.At the end of the night, we had to put together a daily feature from the Associated Press known as "Baseball Today" which would be a rundown of the top moments and players from the previous night of games, as well as a feature pitching match-up coming up later that day.
