My research at the CMUTEAM focuses on conducting functional genetic and epigenetic studies to gain valuable insights into the implications of rare genetic variants in neurological function and associated diseases. The primary objective is to shed light on the underlying mechanisms of neurological disorders linked to these rare genetic variants, ultimately paving the way for the development of targeted therapeutic interventions. In addition, my research endeavors encompass the establishment of novel disease-specific models through stem cell research, including the utilization of induced pluripotent stem cells (iPSCs), organoids, 3D in vitro models, and organ-on-chip models. These cutting-edge models are integral to our research scope as they enable us to faithfully replicate disease conditions in a controlled laboratory setting, facilitating the investigation of disease mechanisms and the development of novel therapeutic approaches.
