I am the Lead of the Outreach Team, consisting of 5 team members. We go out in the community to search and locate homeless Veterans within our community. I coordinate with outside agencies and my Organization for weekly scheduled and unscheduled outreach, clinical and residential meetings through out the city of Long Beach. I network with VA staff in assisting Veterans with their benefits and getting them off the streets and into Grant Per Diem transitional housing and shelters as well as permanent housing. I organize and set up information tables at events. I maintain the Homeless Veteran registry to help end Veteran Homelessness.

Residential Inpatient and Outpatient Substance Abuse Counselor, for 15-40 clients at any given time. Daily meet with clients to evaluate their health and substance problem, identifying issues and create individualized goals and treatment plans for clients. Teaching clients coping mechanisms to assist and prevent relapses. Helping clients find jobs or reestablish their career. Leading group therapy sessions.Providing updates and progress reports to courts, probation and parole officers. Referring clients to local support groups with community agencies. Setting up aftercare plans and meeting with family members and provide guidance and support.
