The coordination and management of the Duke of Edinburgh Personal Development Awards at Worthing High School. Ensuring each participant is motivated and inspired to achieve and progress outside the class room.

My role is to help and encourage the students have to have clear, realisable careers and destinations with support from the business community.

Bringing staff and students together with the parents and businesses to ultimately build effective links between different parts of the community to benefit everyone. A good example of this was a recent partnership Business Enterprise event that was held with Ringmer Community College and Roedean school. A local business call Masterpiece sponsored the event for year 9 students with parents, staff and students helping to run the fantastic two day event. I support young people through the three levels, Bronze, Silver and Gold. I train them in all the DofE aspects and I lead expeditions on the South Downs for Bronze, The New Forest for Silver and the Brecon Beacons for Gold. I believe that this Award is at the heart of my educational beliefs and that the reward for the young people is knowing that they have totally done this for themselves. they also understand that employers value it massively.
