I researched and developed strategies for the production and delivery of text, audio and video databases for academic use worldwide. This has involved hands on work with identity and access management, large scale search, cloud deployment, audio and video streaming, and digital asset management.

Joined Classical.com after my own company built a successful prototype music streaming and download service for them. Guided the technology through various changes of business direction before it was sold to Alexander Street Press.

Elphin Ltd was my own company specialising in Internet software development. We developed a courseware creation tool for Granada Learning, as well as the worlds first Classical music streaming service for Classical.comOne of our more fun achievements was developing software to enable results from the Speedway World Cup to be relayed live to the official website - by linking directly to the trackside timing equipment, we published the results before the live coverage on satellite television.

Led multi-disciplinary product teams producing CD-ROM and Internet based educational software. As one of the senior developers in the organisation, also helped form best practices companywide.

Managed a team producing the next generation of production tools for multimedia CD-ROM delivery, and also exploring the potential of the Internet for the company's products.

Development of innovative CD-ROM based learning materials aimed at secondary schools. My favourite achievement was the release of "World War II: Global Conflict" a pioneering product that allowed aspects of World War II to be explored through an indexed, interactive video. As well as developing the software, I contributed to the product design and saw it win an International EMMA award at Cannes in 1995.
