This was a global role in which I was responsible for the growth and performance of the chemical business unit. I managed a team of regulatory affairs professionals in the UK and Switzerland. This team was responsible for the registration services provided by the company to the global chemical industry. A particular focus of the team was the EU REACH regulations, both for new and phase-in chemicals. My role included giving presentations at seminars on REACH and other regulatory topics such as worldwide notification schemes and classification and labelling (CLP). The department has for some years routinely performed in vitro bacterial mutation assays, chromosome aberration tests, mammalian cell gene mutation assays, cytotoxicity tests and in vivo micronucleus, chromosome aberration and UDS studies.
