I have returned to Cape Town and set up a Training and Consulting College, primarily to offer IRCA Accredited Lead Auditor Courses Quality, Environment and Occupational Health and Safety Management. I will also be offering Consulting and training services on Quality, Environmental, Occupational Health & Safety, Laboratory and Food Safety systems and issues.

As Head of Quality of the largest Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) producer in the world, my duties included:• Personally responsible for the full implementation of OHSAS 18001, and day to day, implementation, management and continual improvement of our Integrated Management System (IMS). Qatargas grew by a factor of 14 during this period. I was responsible for the implementation of the Management systems into all new assets and facilities. This covered the ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and OHSAS 18001 Management standards. • Drive the change to create a Risk and Process based system, by adopting the Safety Case approach used in the North Sea, after the Piper Alpha incident. • Lead the ISO 17025:2005 implementation into Qatargas’s state of the art Laboratory, using the RVA as the Accreditation body. • Focal point and Lead for the Management System Audits of the entire organization. This also included yearly Shareholder and 3rd party audits.• Designing and presenting training on a number of aspects of our Management systems.• Designing a comprehensive Incident reporting, investigation and Corrective Action system to replace 12 stand-alone systems that were currently in use. • Designing and implementing an ‘Improvement Suggestion Scheme’ that encouraged continuous improvement and generates a number of suggestions per day.

During this period, my work involved certifying over 100+ companies in a wide spectrum of Industries within South Africa which included Packaging/Engineering, Plastics, Chemical, Pharmaceutical, Textile, Electronics, Food & Beverage, Medical, Services and other industries.As one of only 6 - ISO Certified Consultants, I worked as an ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 17025, OHSAS 18001, HACCP and TQM Management Consultant to assist companies to attain the respective Certifications. During this period (13 years), I had a 100% success rate for Certifications -and achieved many personal successes. Other activities included:Conducting all 'on and offsite' training.3rd party auditor for the South African Bureau of Standards.Accredited service provider by the Department of Trade and Industry - (MERSETA)

As Quality Assurance Technologist for I reported directly to the Quality Manager and in his absence handled all aspects of Quality in a highly mechanised, statistically controlled 2 and 3 piece can making factory. I was personally responsible for the initial implementation and upkeep of an ISO 9002 Quality Management System.As the appointed Administrator, I administrated and implemented a ‘Total Quality Management System’ into the factory which included training of over 500 supervisors and shop floor personnel.I activated and implemented the following:• Internal Audits throughout the National Foodcan Division to assist in the maintenance of the ISO 9000 Quality Systems across 4 different factories.• All trials of new materials used throughout the division.• Training of all staff and facilitation in Kepner Tregoe problems solving techniques.• Training of all staff in Quality Awareness and basic Statistical Techniques.• Incoming Inspection of all raw materials coming into the factory.• Statistical and machine capability studies.• Control of Calibration of over 300 gauges used within the factory, and design and implementation of a computerized gauging system within the factory.• Staff management of 2 foremen and 26 QA Inspectors.

During my position as Workshop and Production Manager for Southern Oceanics (the only diving equipment manufacturer and supplier in South Africa), I reported directly to the Managing and Technical Directors. My duties included the following:Design and build "diving systems" to customer requirements.Efficient and effective organization and management of the workshop, including staff recruitment, and training of staff.Site and project management.Material procurement and stores management.Starting and running a Quality Control System, including all relevant documentation.

I started as a Fitter and worked my way up to be the Assistant Installations Manager for Offshore Marine Engineering - the largest European manufacturer of deep sea diving saturation systems. I reported directly to the Installation Manager and Managing Director.In the absence of the Installation Manager I handled all aspects of deep sea diving installations, close liaison with the owner's representatives and the respective shipyard. I was involved in all aspects of the planning of the day to day running of the installation programme. I was the Senior Dive Technician on-site and worked on all the systems. Compressors, 20 man decompression chambers, diving bells, hydraulic handling systems, heaters, chillers, CO2 scrubbers and the fire suppressant system.All the systems were fully certified to Lloyds Register, Det Norske Veritas (DNV), Netherlands Petroleum Directorate (NPD), and the Department of Energy (DOE) standards. As the Assistant Installation Manager, my duties included close liaison with the certifying authorities and the testing of all equipment to their satisfaction.

During my duties as a Security Officer for Unitrust Security I was involved with:All aspects of security in three of London's top hotels, namely the Mayfair, Grosvenor, and the London Penta as well as Cromwell Hospital, which is a top security hospital in London. Undercover security work in a large retail store in South London.

I served for five and a half years with the British South Africa Police in Rhodesia, with three and a half of those in the Criminal Investigation Department (C.I.D.), and Special Branch, where I was extensively trained and involved with the security of the President, Prime Minister and other Cabinet Ministers and with conducting various anti-terrorist and counter Intelligence operations.
