Peter was the Design Manager for Hickory’s modular building programs. He managed a team of drafters and structural engineers working on the development of new modular building technologies and projects. In his role, Peter oversaw the design concept, BIM modelling, costing, detailed documentation and production design support of multiple residential modular apartment buildings ensuring on time delivery with high quality. Project included Australia’s tallest prefabricated building. Key projects: - Adara Apartments, Perth (77 Apartment, 6 Storey) - 323 Latrobe Tower, Melbourne (206 Apartment, 44 Storey) - Peppers King Square, Perth (120 Apartment, 17 Storey)As the Design Manager, Peter led the introduction of a clean sheet design for modular buildings including the delivery of a comprehensive design guide for use by internal and external parties and implemented a development process for delivering future products while also introducing and applying design engineering & programme quality tools into the construction industry including Design for Manufacture (DFM), Design for Assembly (DFA), Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA) & Design Verification Plan & Reporting (DVPR). Peter also introduced 3D printing for prototyping façade extrusions to reduce development time significantly and meet Australian Standards through first-time-pass testing at an international test laboratory.As a part of the “Clean Sheet” design Peter helped develop and define several innovations in modular building design. Two of these design aspects have now been provisionally patented (“A Façade Attachment System for a Building & “Method of Constructing a Core in Modular Construction”). He conducted testing and achieved certification of steel/concrete composite floors and aluminium/glass façade systems to Australian Standards.

Managed the quality activities for the compact vehicle line team (2 direct reports). Activities included quality inspections, test fleets, warranty/customer satisfaction sufficiency plans and virtual quality assessments. Determined engineering specifications from customer requirements through data analysis of customer surveys - UQ3M (Aus), JD Power (US) & NCBS(Eur) and through directed studies implementing DFSS principals.

Design Release Engineer responsible from concept and prototype through to part production on multiple vehicle programs. Components have included body side moldings, washer systems, wiper systems, windscreen cowl grilles and convertible roof closeout panels.
