As a software engineer and computer scientist, I am passionate about exploring ways to work with and further the capabilities of AI/ML technology, databases, and cloud computing, and about using these technologies to help clients and the software community as a whole help improve the world.In my current role at IBM, I am a software developer, and my work is centered around Db2 AI for z/OS, an AI product which helps boost the performance of the Db2 product through query optimization, network management and system assessment. In this role, I’ve had the chance to contribute to a database product used by some of the world’s most important institutions. This AI/ML-focused role builds directly on my master’s work at UCSF, where I used machine learning to predict brain tumor pathology.My previous work experience also revolves around database technology, CI/CD, and testing. I’ve worked as a member of IBM’s IMS product, where my role centered on designing and implementing database features requested by clients to ensure their database stack worked to further their business goals as much as possible. In my co-op in IBM's Db2 division, I worked on setting up a Jenkins CI/CD server which became a critical part of my team's development process, allowing developers to build and test their work against large test buckets in a straightforward, automated manner. This helped greatly in speeding up and standardizing my team's testing process and has proven to be invaluable as a testing framework. In addition to testing, I also worked on implementing frontend features using frameworks such as React for interfaces designed to work with Db2. Finally, at my first job as an intern in Rocket Software, I worked on test automation, again on the Db2 framework.On the academic front, I am a proud UCLA Bruin (C/o 2021) and have a master’s degree in biomedical imaging from UCSF. I am deeply committed to academic exploration and self-improvement in the fields of computer science and its applications to vital sectors of human endeavor. I believe that my experience in industry and my intellectual interests have a synergy which enable me to grow as both a computer scientist and as a skilled, productive software engineer. Beyond industry and academia, I have worked on open-source projects related to database technology and look forward to continuing to do so in the future.
