In this role I developed and oversaw climate change programming at TakingITGlobal, an international youth-led non-profit organisation based in Toronto. This entailed designing, funding and implementing our major Canadian environmental program, managing relationships with a number of partners and working with a program assistant to keep our material up-to-date and accessible for youth around the world. I led a team in creating the Climate Change Youth Guide to Action (downloaded over 33,000 times in its first 6 weeks and now available in several languages), co-ordinated a national series of more than 20 climate action workshops with youth in eleven provinces and territories, and headed the policy team of the Canadian Youth Delegation to the UN Climate Change Conference in Bali, Indonesia (COP-13/CMP-3). I led and summarised a global e-consultation on climate change and youth for the OECD. I was responsible for managing the Canadian Youth Delegation to the UN Climate Change Conference in Poznań, Poland (COP-14/CMP-4), and represented TakingITGlobal at two rounds of UNFCCC negotiations in Bonn, Germany and two high-level sessions on climate change at the UN General Assembly.
