I worked with the Pembina's Federal and Climate Change Policy teams to promote effective policy through research and engagement with decision-makers, media and the public. I led timely and policy-relevlant research projects on provincial, federal and international carbon policy as well as Pembina’s detailed analysis of government regulatory proposals. Through my work I: - Built partnerships with a broad variety of stakeholders to deliver projects - Routinely briefed senior managers and staff on critical and emerging issues in provincial, national and international climate policy. - Engaged extensively with elected officials, policymakers, and political staff at federal and provincial levels. - Acted as a regular media spokesperson on climate issues and authored over 40 opinion and analysis articles.

In this role I developed and oversaw climate change programming at TakingITGlobal, an international youth-led non-profit organisation based in Toronto. This entailed designing, funding and implementing our major Canadian environmental program, managing relationships with a number of partners and working with a program assistant to keep our material up-to-date and accessible for youth around the world. I led a team in creating the Climate Change Youth Guide to Action (downloaded over 33,000 times in its first 6 weeks and now available in several languages), co-ordinated a national series of more than 20 climate action workshops with youth in eleven provinces and territories, and headed the policy team of the Canadian Youth Delegation to the UN Climate Change Conference in Bali, Indonesia (COP-13/CMP-3). I led and summarised a global e-consultation on climate change and youth for the OECD. I was responsible for managing the Canadian Youth Delegation to the UN Climate Change Conference in Poznań, Poland (COP-14/CMP-4), and represented TakingITGlobal at two rounds of UNFCCC negotiations in Bonn, Germany and two high-level sessions on climate change at the UN General Assembly.

Coordinated delegations of 20-30 young leaders from across Canada to participate in three ministerial rounds of the UN climate change negotiations. Led policy development, analysis and engagement and developed partnerships with Climate Action Network International peers and other youth delegations from around the world.
