Steve (Samad) Wagstaff started his entrepreneurship at a young age when he became part owner in a restaurant called Suggarplums in New Rochelle, NY. As a kid, Samad would dream of ways that he could make an impact within his community, and eventually, within the world. His journey to do so started when he accepted a full athletic scholarship to Bryant University, joining their Division-1 football program as starting cornerback. Samad went on to break many records at Bryant, including most interceptions in a season, however, his competitive edge didn’t wither after graduation. Taking his confidence from the field and in to the work place was a seamless transition, as he was prepared to take the same drive and determination that made him a star football player in to his next endeavor. After graduation, Samad accepted a job as a radio host on Uptown Unplug after interning with the parent company during his time in college. This is when Samad Wagstaff was officially coined PJ Splash, for his unwavering ability to make a ‘splash’ everywhere he goes. As his personality grew, so did his fan base, eventually catching the attention of Andy Hilfiger, brother of Tommy and Creative Director of Artistix Fashion. Andy became a mentor to PJ, teaching him the inner workings of marketing and product placement. Today, PJ works along side Andy and the brand assisting with projects such as casting for photoshoots and fashion shows, as well as connecting the brand with key influencers and celebrities.
