I believe local financial institutions can contribute to the flourishing of democracy and quality of community life through ensuring fair and affordable access to capital and modern banking services. Actually, I know they can; but, I’m concerned they won’t by default. I don’t like to consider what that means for my son’s financial and entrepreneurial future, and I feel the same about your progeny and future generations the world over. I am convinced financial literacy and autonomy in the 21st century will require our financial institutions to understand and embrace the paradigm shift of digital assets and decentralized/distributed technologies. I contribute time, talent, and treasure to promoting powerful organizations at the epicenters of financially dignified and free communities in the 21st Century. I engage in daily exploration of philosophical principles and technological concepts surrounding the privileged position community financial institutions and community service organizations occupy as centralized, trusted, local organizations in an era of big-tech and hyper-conglomerated disruptive ‘innovation’ and rapid technological disintermediation.
