The Virtual Dementia Tour was created as a sensitivity training program to help sensitize caregivers in the area of dementia care. The VDT is now a comprehensive training program designed to prepare our healthcare providers, families and community leaders for the burgeoning numbers of people with dementia.

Started the non profit, established the dreams program, created a grassroots volunteer program for implementation of the dreams program,innitiated fundraising developed relationships with other non profits and community leaders throughout the US

A consulting firm with a specialty in Geriatric Care, Elder Care Mediation and caregiver support for Behavioral Problems as they relate to dementia. Geriatric Specialists aims to increase sensitivity and assistance for those with cognitive impairmemts and their families. Services included speaking engagements on caregiving to elders as well and behavioral help for those working and living with people with dementia. I also have experience in developing programs for Special Care Units.Provided consulting services in dementia care programming in long term care. Developed comprehensive inservice, behavioral implementations, assessments and quality assurance for direct care staff and families. Conducted two studies designed to prove the premise that people with dementia have a decrease in behavior problems when staff and families are educated about the disease. Developed a comprehensive program in Geriatrics for the Department of Corrections. Provided inservice training for staff at each maximum securtiy prison on dementia and geriatrics so that the older inmates recieved consideration of cognitive decline and physical disabilities. Created and implemented the first lesson plan used by the department of corrections on aging and dementia. Developed an assessment protocol for cognitive decline as it relates to activities in prison with the goal of helping wardens and guards to appropriately assign roles to inmates. Conducted Keynote addresses throughout the U.S. and Canada about dementia and Alzheimers Disease.

Developed the program for psych services and rolled it out nation wide. Marketed the new program and provided QA for all clinical teams. Assisted with aquisitions of new practices. Eventually responsible for all facets of MHM clinical care. Dentistry, podiatry,optometry and Psyc. I wrote the program management portion of RFP for mental health assessment in GA wich resulted in a significant increase in revenue to the company.My last year with MHM I consulted with my main objective to develop training protocols for all Psyc teams.

Traveled over several states conducting Psyc. Assessments for Nursing Homes on elders that were having behavior problems and making recommendations to the staff to help stave off the problem. Assisted with care plan development and provided inservices to direct care staff.
