Responsibilities include oversight of analytical support for internal product development as well as implementation/management of Cayman's ISO 17025 and ISO Guide 34 accredited CRM production and testing. Additional responsibilities include new product development, management of contract analytical services, and pre-GMP analytical method development in support of API manufacturing. Techniques employed include mass spectrometry, analytical and preparative HPLC, GC, NMR, and peripheral analytical techniques (Karl Fisher, IR, polarimetry, melting point, Loss on Drying, Residue on Ignition, etc). Scope of experience includes qualitative and quantitative methods of analysis for prostaglandins and lipids, cannabinoids, pharmaceuticals, proteins and petides, forensic emerging drugs, cosmetic ingredients, unkowns determination, residual solvents analysis, natural product isolation, mg to gram scale HPLC purifications, quantitative LC-MSMS analysis of drugs and metabolites in biological matrices, emerging drug analysis by GCMS, and purchasing/maintenance of analytical instrumentation.

- Responsible for the development of analytical methods for HPLC purifications of catalog and R&D products, contract quantitative and qualitative analyses, and HPLC and HPLC-MS analytical support. - Additional responsibilities include management of the lipid chemistry group, research and development of new products derived from natural materials and product stability testing.- Involved in key decision making on capital equipment evaluation and purchasing as well as new/custom product development.

Applications support, instrument design and testing, and product management for HPLC-Time-of-Flight-Mass Spectrometry instrumentation.

Medicinal Chemist involved in the development of small molecule drugs affecting RNA-based mechanisms. eg. development of RNA-binding molecules to inhibit early termination of protein synthesis (nonsense suppression) - see US patent 7,291,603
