Astrophysicist in the Berger Cosmic Transients Lab specializing in radio observations. For the specialists: main area of research is auroral emission from the smallest stars and planets, but also significant work in the first LIGO binary neutron star merger (GW170817), Fast Radio Bursts, and active dwarf stars, using observations spanning the electromagnetic spectrum.For everyone else: I conduct original astrophysics research on a wide variety of topics, using telescopes all over the world and in space. I have wide-ranging astrophysical knowledge with an emphasis on radio interferometry and magnetospheric processes. I do a great deal of technical writing for peer-reviewed publications, proposals, and internal documents. I also help communicate our group's results in media interviews and public outreach events. I write substantial quantities of code, for both HPC and desktop environments, to manage, calibrate, analyze, and visualize terabyte-scale datasets. I routinely travel to conferences, give professional talks, and work in distributed, international teams. Finally, I spend a great deal of time mentoring the junior members of my research group, the broader Center for Astrophysics community, and colleagues in my research areas.
