Nordic Institute for Interoperability Solutions (NIIS) ensures the development and strategic management of digital government solutions that allow NIIS members to provide excellent digital public services. I worked as an information systems manager for the programme of National Architecture for Digital Services (KaPA). The programme involved creating a national data exchange layer; the shared service views for citizens, companies and authorities; a new national e-identification model; and national solutions for the administration of roles and authorizations for organizations and individuals. I was the team leader of the information systems team and I was responsible for enterprise architecture, operational services and IT infrastructure of the new Suomi.fi services that were developed using agile methodologies, and DevOps tools and principles. I was the chair of the IT architecture board and I was responsible for providing implementation guidelines and advice to product owners and development teams. In addition, I was the technical lead of The National Data Exchange Layer (based on X-Road Data Exchange Layer) implementation project and I was coordinating the joint open source development of X-Road between two countries, Finland and Estonia.
