About Peter Klaren
Animal physiologist. My research in the Animal Physiology group (department of Plant & Animal Biology, Radboud Institute for Biological and Environmental Sciences) is in fish physiology, and focuses on the thyroid gland and thyroid hormones. Aquaculture, aquatic toxicology, and human disease models are important research contexts.I do quite a bit of teaching in our university. Physiology, endocrinology, but also two statistics courses for our (medical) biology (under)graduates. I aim to deliver courses to my students that provide insight in how knowledge is obtained by discussing experimental approaches, not just data only. Lectures should not only convey information, but also serve to titillate the students’ scientific palate.
