I am very interested in product development, as well as organizational development, team development and personal development especially gearing up for the digital era, where computing is pervasive in all aspects of human life. Now we start the first wave of AI driven everything, in the very near future we will see many changes due to automation and augmented reality. These new disruptions that are coming to all will need fundamental changes in the way we work and build organizations to build value. Paired with the fundamental need of individuals to have an impact on their work and environment, and the expectation of milennials to do so immediately, we have to adapt the values on which organizations are built. As leaders, we need to be visionary and compassionate, motivating and authentic while creating an environment of trust, equality, responsibility and solution orientation. Only then will we be competitive as a business and attractive as a workplace. Similarly, the processes needed to take a product idea through development to delivery need to be adapted to these models. In my newest venture at medmonitor.swiss, we are contributing to the **real** digitization of medical practices.Information Technology has been my interest and passion since I was a kid. I wrote a lot of code early on but I was taught proper software engineering and data analysis only after my Physics PhD during my first year at Johns Hopkins University, where I was fortunate enough to work with Jim Gray and with Alex Szalay. Through them I learned a lot about technology and innovation in general, about data science in particular, and most importantly about teamwork.From then on I kept teaching myself continuously, especially in software engineering and in data science and data management, much before big data. I took up responsibility in the teams I worked with, leading teams and projects to successful conclusion. I have been an early adopter of agile methodologies, and have been applying them since the early 2000s.I naturally evolved into building and developing small to mid scale organizations, raising funds for and creating the Science IT Support department at the University of Zurich, in several startups like Cloudbroker, Healthbank, and Qumram (as Head of Development) where I was involved in all aspects of innovation, organization, technology and team development. It was also a great experience to build up an R&D lab for Dynatrace (which acquired Qumram in 2017) in Barcelona. And more recently, I founded my own consultancy company as well as medmonitor.swiss.
