Place is founded by CEPT University alumni Shefali & Umesh Shurpali; architects & urban designers who are also actively engaged in academics.Key people Shefali Shurpali; B.Arch (1999); M.Arch Urban Design (CEPT University)Besides professional practice, Shefali also engages in academics as a visiting faculty at various reputed schools for planning and architecture including CEPT University.She has played key roles as an urban designer at CEPT Research and Development Unit in projects like Bus Rapid Transit Systems, revitalisation and pedestrianisation of historic core, walled city of Ahmedabad and revival of walled city, Jaipur. She is the contributing author for a book on BRTS titled ‘Innovations in Design-Ahmedabad BRTS’. Umesh Shurpali; B.Arch ( 1998) M.Arch Urban Design (CEPT University)Umesh's experience includes six plus years with architectural consultancies of international repute; eight plus years in urban design and its employment in PPP projects. He is involved in academics as a visiting faculty at the faculty of planning, CEPT university. He led the urban design & architecture division at Gujarat International Finance Tec-city since its inception and had recently taken the role of an independent urban design advisor to GIFT city. He was selected by CEPT in 2005 for an international studio in Istanbul conducted by the United Nations. Mrinali Bhilavadikar M.Arch Urban Design (Michigan State University) / M.Arch landscape Architecture (SPA, Delhi)Mrinali has successfully designed & implemented several landscape projects in and around Nagpur, India, she is actively involved in holistic development of ‘place’.
