I am an accomplished manager in leading projects, winning new business, supporting business operations and working on multiple projects simultaneously. I have over 20 years in the consulting world, with a robust commercial acumen, funding intelligence and a passion for visual grammar. I am intellectually curious for anything technology or advanced sciences, a natural connector and champion of collaborations, driven, rigorous, entrepreneurially nurturing and able to see others’ perspectives when it comes to team dynamics. Currently leading the innovation and Economy Working Group for the Oxford to Cambridge Partnership, focusing Internationalisation, Sustainable Economic Development and Innovation collaboration.Proudly chairing the Cherwell Business Awards and supporting a number of boards & schools, OB1, Silver Start and mentor volunteer for a number of local institutions.Previously focused on building a community of like minded innovative entrepreneurs and organisations at one of the newest Technology Parks in Oxon whilst at the same time identifying opportunities to increase the visibility and reputation of not only the Park but everyone that felt part of it. During my time at Heyford Park Management, I developed my commercial property skills dealing with commercial tenants, focusing on customer engagement, being in charge of community building and assisting the development team on the major plans for the site.At Bicester Vision as Partnership Manager, I took the lead on setting new objectives, reshaping the board and driving new initiatives to engage all stakeholders.Previously I was Portfolio Director of the Oxfordshire Innovation and Growth Team, providing business support to high growth and innovative businesses in the area, supporting local high growth businesses with advise on business planning, raising finance, IP issues, access to a number of Market Research sources, etc. plus I also launched a number of CEO and Women in Business Peer Groups and helped get new Cryogenics network off the ground. Before as Network Manager for the Oxfordshire Enterprirse Hub and I managed a number of projects aimed at supporting early stage businesses, some funded by EU, some others funded at a regional level for example Fit For Funding, which was an Investment Readiness Project in 4 counties. Before becoming senior programme manager I took on a number of varied roles; from operating the Innovation Centre at the Begbroke Science Park to becoming the Business Development Manager for the Oxfordshire Investment Opportunity Network.

Deputy ChairOxfordshire Business First Mar 2012 - PresentOxfordshireAs one of 14 volunteer Directors I am involved in Oxfordshire Business First which is a not-for-profit organisation set up to address the need of enabling business people to learn from other business people. The goal is to promote entrepreneurship and innovation in Oxfordshire by helping individual businesses to overcome obstacles to growth, the outcome will be a positive impact on our county’s economy. Oxfordshire Business First is different to other organisations in that it provides a forum for business people to give freely of their time to share good practice and experience for the benefit of other business people in their community. In other words, it enables business people to learn from those who have been successful – or those who have failed – based on their real experience rather than theory. For the past three years, Oxfordshire Business First has organised a range of monthly events. At each, two speakers present case studies or teaching sessions around topics such as driving innovation in your organisation, utilising the web the grow business opportunities or investigating new sources for commercial funding. Events are held across the county and attract some 50 – 100 participants who, following the formal presentations, engage in lively debate and discussion. All the events are free of charge.Oxfordshire Business First has also run successful events with young people including a ‘Dragon’s Den’ style event run at locations such as Said Business School and Abingdon and Witney College, which encourage young entrepreneurs to take their first steps in starting a business. A book capturing the ‘warts and all’ stories of local entrepreneurs and aimed at young entrepreneurs is currently in production! -
