During my time at WCC, I worked as a habitat restoration crew through King Count Department of Natural Resources & Parks Department as an Assistant Supervisor. A good description of my job is: - Support the crew supervisor with work site logistics, personnel management, tools/equipment, and crew training - Collaborate as part of a 6 person crew to complete habitat restoration/enhancement, wetland mitigation, and agricultural drainage assistance projects throughout King County -Delegated and managed tasks and project site logistics when the supervisor was absent. - Plant native trees and shrubs, install exclusion fencing, improve elk habitat through forest thinning, creosote log removal throughout Puget Sound -Utilize plant identification skills to remove invasive species or control noxious weeds with herbicide application or manual removal - Operate and maintain power tools and hand tools such as augers, chainsaws, brush cutters, pick mattocks, rock bars, and shovels - Educated fellow crew members about power tool maintenance and usage

Mid-Columbia Fisheries Enhancement Group (MCFEG) is a non-profit organization that serves in educating the public about environment factors regarding salmon. During my time at MCFEG, I performed various tasks such as: -Co-lead/Co-Managed the Adopt-A-Stream program within Kittitas County. This entailed organizing stream/river cleanup events throughout the year with adopted stream groups of various size (5-25 people), -Educating the general public about the importance to keep our streams clean, the salmon life cycle, and invasive fish species. -Crew Supervisor for Culvert & Habitat Survey's for culvert removals within the Upper Yakima Basin. I supervised groups of 3-5 interns in performing these surveys in remote areas throughout the Swauk Watershed. Managed and organized field data throughout the Summer of 2018. -Partnered with various government organizations such as, Washington Department Fish & Wildlife (WDFW), United States Forest Service (USFS), and Department of Ecology (DoE), and collaborated on various state projects. I have gone out in the field with WDFW to perform population surveys via electrofishing.

Supervised and educated roughly 20 students through Chemistry labs under the guidance of a faculty member. Taught students hands on skills and proper lab techniques. I also lead the two hour labs, grade lab reports, and met with a faculty member once a week to discuss how to prepare for the next lab.

Every year the Lummi Reservation holds a Summer Youth Bridge Camp for tribal students who interested in going into Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, or Mathematics (STEAM) fields. There were two, two week long camps for middle school and high school tribal students. Over the course of early summer, fishing rights for all tribal members were revoked due to poor water conditions and they affect that they had on the aquatic life. My role was to educate tribal students about water quality and what environments are best to raise salmon in--a food source known and utilized by all tribal members to feed their families. I also aided in other camp activities such as learning computer code techniques for small robotic cars, traditional cedar weaving, and health awareness.
