A sharp eye for a missing niche, an accomplished management background and a spark of an idea forged the beginning of my businesses, Platinum Property Styling, and more recently, My House Your House.Some 12 years ago, I decided to take a leap of faith - back myself and my idea - and launch a business starting with a ute and a trailer.I saw the problem in the market. The home staging industry was still in its infancy. There was no sector for the Mum’s and Dads who wanted to sell their property, quickly and at its highest value. I could foretell that there needed to be a sleek, affordable, efficient and professional option for the largest portion of the market – the families.Home styling has been proven to increase sale results and reduce days on market. I wanted to extend that across the greater populace, not just the elite properties in South Australia. I was certain that I could achieve the same results, for a wider scope of vendors.The idea received a lot of criticism. But I had confidence in my vision and decided to ignore the nay-sayers, keep my eye on growing the concept, identifying problems and presenting dynamic solutions that saw my company become the “go-to” name in property staging. My hands-on work ethic has driven the growth of Platinum Property Styling to become a market leader in staging properties. Manufacturers even look to Platinum for guidance on styling and purchasing advice.My enjoyment in overseeing the finer details, meeting the clients personally and celebrating in exceeding their sale expectations, is what continues to ignite the joy and drive I feel on a day to day basis. I have high personal values around building local businesses. Encouraging community engagement and supporting South Australians, is a considerable driving factor. I am proud to say that Platinum provides economic stability for 19 employees and their families. The styling has directly resulted in achieving maximum dollars for a great number of sales for over a decade. My recent venture, My House Your House, was designed from the desire to provide sellers with the opportunity to purchase the furnishings and homewares that I use in styling the properties. I loved the idea of creating a look for customers, that they had the option to then purchase.
