In keeping with our mission, Nevada Health Centers is the largest provider of primary care for the uninsured, underinsured, and geographically isolated people in the state, with 18 health, three mobile health programs, and seven Women, Infants, and Children offices.In many cases, our rural and frontier clinics are the only accessible places for people to get healthcare. And to keep care affordable, we offer a sliding fee scale based on federal poverty levels. The Shade Tree is the largest shelter of its kind in the state and is the only 24-hour accessible shelter designed specifically to meet the needs of women and children in Southern Nevada. Our Mission:To provide safe shelter to homeless and abused women & children in crisis; as well as, offer life-changing services promoting stability, dignity, and self-reliance. We accomplish this by mobilizing the power of volunteers and the generosity of community partners and donors.Our Vision:Self-reliance for every woman and child!We believe:That no one should ever have to endure a state of homelessness, existing in fear for personal safety and without the means to meet even the most basic of human needs – food and shelter.That every human being, regardless of social status, has the right to be treated with dignity and respect.That all homeless children are victims because they lack choice and mobility.That homelessness is a community problem that impacts everyone.That everyone can be a part of the solution.With 364 permanent beds, The Shade Tree provides over 100,000 nights of shelter each year. On average, 33% of our clients are children under the age of 18. Senior citizens represent the fastest growing segment of our population.The upper floors of our 38,000 square foot facility are residential areas with sleeping rooms, libraries, training rooms, restrooms, and children’s playrooms. The main floor has our “Dayroom,” kitchen, laundry, restrooms and showers, and services for victims of violence. The full basement is used for storing donations and shelter supplies. The Shade Tree is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization. We are a local ‘grassroots’ agency with no national affiliation or support.

Get Outdoors Nevada (GON) (formerly the Outside Las Vegas Foundation) is dedicated to connecting people of all backgrounds and ages to Nevada’s diverse outdoor places through education, volunteerism, and outreach. We strive to foster and support a community that discovers, experiences and connects to our state’s many natural environments, from wild landscapes and recreational areas to urban trails. Education programs connect a range of audiences through S.T.E.A.M. education curriculum, field experiences and interpretive media to outdoor places such as the Valley of Fire State Park, the Spring Mountains Ranch State Park, Desert National Wildlife Refuge, the Springs Preserve, Clark County Wetlands Park, and a wide variety of local parks and trails. Volunteer programs provide individual residents, community groups, and businesses community enhancement and support opportunities throughout the region (in partnership with the City of Las Vegas, the City of North Las Vegas, Clark County, and City of Henderson). Since 2012, we are proud to report, over 15,000 volunteer hours have been logged participating in GON’s Volunteer Beautification Projects around Nevada. Get Outdoors Nevada Day, our community outreach event, connects people of all backgrounds and ages to Nevada’s diverse outdoor interactive recreation activities, volunteerism, tourism, and local business. This family-friendly event combines fun, interactive activities with themes of stewardship inspiring an appreciation of how the outdoors increase our quality of life through discovering, experiencing, and connecting with unique landscapes, local parks, and urban trails.Collaboration efforts include Lake Mead Circle, LV Healing Garden, large planning projects such as the Vegas Valley Rim Trail, the Regional Open Space and Trails Workgroup (a working group of the Southern Nevada Regional Planning Coalition including planners from all local jurisdictions), to include BLM, US Fish and Wildlife Service.

Fundraising Events and Community OutreachProduced and directed regional special events: including two out of the three highest grossing in organization –“Comedy for a Cure”, Hollywood, CA and OC Golf Tournament of Champions, Newport Beach, CA.Organized regional medical conferences, regional Washington DC lobbying on government outreach initiatives aimed at increasing TSC research dollars from governmental sources and volunteer information resource fulfillment.Planned and implemented educational and support forums in local communities, including Regional TSC Conferences.Coordinated with Community Outreach team on volunteer training, including revisions to and creation of training programs.Managed all documentation related to event planning: established and monitored budgets, tracked finances, contracts, POs and fulfillment requests, volunteer expense reports, reimbursements and generated post-event evaluations reports.
