⦿ As the most senior artist, supervised all 2D Art that went into the game under prolonged absences of the Art Director (ie. the last 8 months before Release)◦◦◦ Responsible for estimating and prioritizing 2D Art tasks.◦◦◦ Created outsourcing briefs for illustrations and icons covering art style and technical implementation details. Collected and approved references for outsourcing artists.⦿ Designed the visuals of the most visible hero features in CK3, including initial UX layout, concept art and the final implementation: HUD, Character View, Main Menu, Lifestyles, Bookmarks.◦◦◦ Mentored other artist on the project, which at some point had 4 extra 2D artists helping out.◦◦◦ With the help of the UX designer, implemented an in-game reference library for UI design patterns.⦿ As main Art stakeholder for various tech features, authored technical specs and interfaced with the engine team, such as for the map border system, improved font rendering, UI text glow tech, improvements to the animation system and others. Was the main point of contact for the engine team during development of these.◦◦◦ Proposed and helped implement solutions for issues with 4K support, such as using mipmaps effectively and creating standardized practices for texture compression, which reduced interface memory usage by half.◦◦◦ Spearheaded implementation of new GUI system layout features which helped increase iteration speed. Held workshops for the programmers and other 2D artists on how to effectively use the GUI system. Promoted modularity and good practices which resulted in less time spend by artists scripting UI.⦿ Various work on the 3D character portraits, from creating cameras and lighting setups, to tweaking final tonemapping settings, as well as implementation of full body portraits in the frontend.
