- Provide technical direction, product/tool/technology selection, architectural definition, process and many aspects of strategy – including CI/CD and microservices – for Intertrust’s DRM division, ExpressPlay.- Improve the speed and reliability of software delivery by introducing microservices, containerized deployments to Kubernetes, continuous integration, continuous delivery (CI/CD), SCRUM and unit testing.- Designed and built, from inception to launch, two new products for the broadcast TV (CAS) market. Both are highly scalable, highly available and performant services backed by 20+ microservices continuously deployed to Kubernetes. Leveraged Spring Boot, Java, Project Reactor (Reactive Streams), gRPC, REST, Kafka and DynamoDB (NoSQL).- Replaced an aging CRM monolith with 15 microservices and delivered using SCRUM in 1/4 the time of the original, while adding many new features and four external integrations.- Oversaw the operational takeover of a partner’s DRM hosting platform and ensured the company received a $1M payment for on-time completion. Managed an offshore team and interfaced directly with the partner.- Modernized the engineering group by introducing Git, pull requests, Gradle, Jira, unit testing, stress testing, Docker containers, Kubernetes, Istio, GitOps and the latest versions of Java.- Introduced a services mindset to streamline deployment of microservices.
