I provide academic English services (www.academicenglishservices.com) for non-native English-speaking academics. These include academic translation from Spanish and Catalan into English, specialising in the humanities and social sciences; editing academic texts, including substantive editing to facilitate publication in English-Speaking academic journals; and coaching in academic writing and presentations. I have taught English language at universities in Catalonia, Spain (Pompeu Fabra University, Barcelona University and Vic University) for close to 20 years, and I have many years of experience as a translator from Spanish and Catalan into English. I began as a translator of general English in the 1990s with organisations like the Barcelona Olympic Committee, the Seville Universal Exhibition and Catalan TV, and in the last few years I have begun to specialise in academic translating and editing for Spanish and Catalan academics submitting articles to US/UK academic journals, and in editing PhD theses.I am very familiar with the requirements of English academic writing, and presenting, having recently spent almost a decade in UK universities getting an Msc in Applied Positive Psychology and a Ph.D in Philosophy (University College London). I have myself had a number of articles published in US/UK academic journals, as well as academic book chapters and an academic book published by Routledge (2016). I am dedicated to using this experience and these skills to help non-native English-Speaking academics to achieve academic success: by translating and editing papers for publication in academic journals; editing PhD theses (UK) / dissertations (US); and providing coaching services to improve academic writing and presentation/speaking skills.
