Jurie Smith is the CEO, lead trainer and principal consultant for PM Academy Southern Africa. He founded PM Academy South Africa and Botswana during 2005 and 2016 respectively. PM Academy is a world leader in project management with a wealth of experience and has successfully completed projects, training and recruitment internationally.Jurie is an experienced business executive with over 34 years' experience in the, Information Technology, Government, Telecommunications, Consulting, Mining, Banking, Financial, Construction and other sectors. He has successfully delivered PMBOK® (Project Management Body of Knowledge), APMG and AXELOS based courses internationally. Jurie is the primary author and regularly presents on the PM Academy Advanced Diploma in Project Management that is accredited through the Council on Higher Education (CHE). Jurie has a Master of Business Administration (MBA) and is one of the few certified Project Management Professionals (PMP®), certified PRINCE2®, Managing Successful Programmes (MSP®), Management of Portfolios (MoP®), AgilePM® and Project Management for Development Communities (PMD Pro) practitioners in the world. He is a certified P3M3 Assessor, Project Management Moderator and Assessor registered with the Services SETA.He served on the Project Management Standards Generating Body (PMSGB) Steering Committee and held various Executive positions at Project Management South Africa (PMSA) and PMI SA Chapter. He held project management executive positions at prestigious companies such as PricewaterhouseCoopers and Business Connexion.He regularly presents at project management conferences and prestigious Universities such as Stellenbosch and Witwatersrand. His practical experience includes: Delivery of projects and programmes ranging from $1million to projects in excess of $70million; establishing Project Management Offices (PMO); conducting Project Management Maturity audits / reviews and mentoring and coaching of project staff.
