The company was acquired by Hatch Associates in 2000, at which time my employment was transferred directly to the new organisation.Reporting to the Computer Aided Engineering Manager, I was responsible for the ongoing development, support and integration of a variety of engineering systems in both operational and corporate contexts.I was intimately involved with the engineering project teams and the production of automated deliverables for a number of projects, notably:• Worsley Alumina – Train 3 Expansion – Worsley, Australia• Alcoa – Rake Classifier Upgrade – Wagerup, AustraliaIn particular, the Worsley project remains a global benchmark to this day for its level of automation and sophisticated use of 3rd-party and internally developed software tools, and I remain particularly proud of my key role in this project.

In this role I was able to gain a solid understanding of the challenging EPC environment and the typical software landscape deployed to meet its needs.In particular, this position provided me with exposure to Intergraph’s Plant Design System (PDS) 3D engineering software platform, mastery of which proved to be a key stepping-stone in my career.
